What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:
- Your name
- Your email address
We do not request access to your contacts, files, calendar or any other Google data. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email address you provide for that purpose.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep basic technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the Service running.
How we use it
- To create and identify your account and let you sign in
- To show your name inside the app
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the Service
- To send the newsletter, only if you have subscribed to it
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Google user data
The Shining Writer’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide sign-in and basic account features, and is never used to train AI models or for advertising.
Who we share it with
We only share information with service providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting, database and email delivery providers. They process data on our behalf and only for that purpose. We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your name and email address within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information at any time by emailing us. You can also remove The Shining Writer’s access to your Google account from your Google Account settings. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No service can guarantee perfect security, but we take care to keep what we store to a minimum.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will let you know by email.
